About MeThis cream wedding veil and headdress was worn by Anna Alexander at her marriage to William Leiper on the 3rd of January 1908. The occasion was celebrated at Richmond Restaurant, at 3 Correction Wynd in Aberdeen. The wedding dress and an invitation are also held within the collection. The dress was worn again by the couple’s daughter on her wedding day in August 1953. We have in the collection a photograph of the happy occasion.
The veil comprises a square of net cut and gathered at one corner. It is attached to a closed circuit of cream wax orange blossom flowers & buds and green leaves of stiffened cotton with wire stems covered in green ribbon.
