About MeThis delicate silk wedding dress was worn by an Aberdeen bride to her wedding at St Machar's Cathedral, on the 30th of December 1921.During the 1920s, dresses often featured apron-like tunics, draping’s and asymmetrical trimmings. The central panel on the bodice features net embroidery with metallic thread. The two silk flaps over the chest area are trimmed with faux pearls, as are the cuffs on the full-length sleeves. The A-line skirt is decorated with a silk sash at the waist.
Two long strands of fabric fall from the sash over the left side of the skirt. Their tips are decorated with faux pearls and glass beads. Shorter wedding dresses like this one were popular at the time.
