''I enclose herewith copy of letter I have today received from Mr. Graham Smith together with copy of my reply.
I also enclose Messrs. Colnaghi's Credit Note showing the etchings sold for the sum of £21 and their cheque in payment thereof I have today forwarded to the North Bank for credit of your account with them.
It appears that Powers of Attorney have to be continued by legal means usually at the expiry of each twelve months by special declaration before a commissioner of Oaths and it is for that purpose that I have to visit Mr. Graham Smith's office, as I do not know of any person vested with these powers in the distrait here.
Hope you are both fine. I will not write more as Lisbeth has just sent off a long letter with all our news, so au revoir for the moment and with love and the best of luck to you both.
I remain,
Yours as always.''
Typed on one side of blue paper.
