''Dear Mr. Graham Smith

Many thanks for cheque for £21 from Messrs. P. & D. Colnaghi & Co. Ltd. .... I note that the Declarations are now ready for my signature and I shall try to come along to your office on an early date. Could I come more or less at any time so that one of your clerks could deal with the matter with me. ... Many thanks for carrying through the stamping of Mrs. McBey's Power of Attorney. It is very good of you to have tried to get the penalty of £2 reduced, but I am sure that neither Mr. nor Mrs. McBey will take any exception, as both you and I are just trying to do our best to take charge of their various business affairs in this country.''
