About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, dated 22 September 1948. McBey says that the letter is not a reply to anything in particular, but to say that he appreciates all Marguerite had done regarding the Palmer portrait. He said that the colour photographs are exactly what he wanted. He says that he received a cable from Marguerite detailing measurements from the architect:

"Panel 29x40 or 25x36 plan sight 24x30 or 24x35 details in post Good luck Marguerite."

He claims that the sizes are illogical, but notes that he need not worry about below the waist line of Mr. Palmer at the moment.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
