About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to Marguerite McBey, dated 8 August 1934, and sent from London. Two sheets. He writes early in the morning, just after 5am, after waking suddenly at 4:45am - but believes it to be later in the day for Marguerite in Tangier (he imagines her walking past Jalobey). He describes a "terrible disappointment" that occurred on Bank Holiday Monday, which he is struggling to "get over" - a registered package arrived in the post from Scotland, containing a ring with apparently three cracks.

However, he says he has finished a portrait.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
