About MeCorrespondence from James McBey to ?? Anna, dated 26 December 1931. McBey writes from 1 Holland Avenue, London, and says that it was very sweet of Anna to send him greetings for his birthday (23 December). He also says that he had a wonderful birthday; the "best" he has ever had. He feels quite spoilt, with his birthday only two days before Christmas, but that it will take him a "long time to get back to normal". He describes a cake he has received, with "pale green icing with magenta roses". He believes it came from Marguerite.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
