About MeWith leather sheath and silver thistle bands and apparently presented to John Brown by Queen Victoria. The back of the sheath is engraved: V.R. to J.B. March 21st 1871

"Skean Dhu" comes from the Scottish Gaelic "sgian-dubh, or "black knife" This particular skean dhu is believed to have been a present from Queen Victoria to her servant, John Brown.
