About MeThis porcelain slim conical vase is decorated all over with extrusions formed by a tool or the potter's thumb pushing small sections of clay outwards. It is glazed all over in a pale blue celadon glaze which becomes darker and almost turquoise in colour to the foot.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China and spread to other parts of East Asia. Iron oxide is added to create shades of pale green and blue and with the addition of a greater amount of iron oxide, in colours as dark as olive green and black.
