About MeThis porcelain small footed bowl is glazed all over in a pale greenish-blue celadon glaze. It is decorated with a meandering squiggle and dot trail of tenmoku glaze around the outside. Chris Keenan works with celadon and tenmoku glazes in combination to create contrasting colours or to enhance a piece with subtle decoration.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China. It is frequently found in shades of pale green, however colours can range from pale pearl blue to dark olive green depending on the quantity of iron oxide added to the glaze before it is fired.
Tenmoku glaze is generally treacle-brown or lustrous black in colour.
