About MeSmall porcelain footed bowl glazed all over in a pale greenish-blue celadon glaze fading to almost white around the rim and inside centre. It is decorated with four bands of a slightly darker celadon glaze around the exterior creating a horizontal striped effect.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China and spread to other parts of East Asia. Iron oxide is added to create shades of pale green and blue and with the addition of a greater amount of iron oxide, in colours as dark as olive green and black.
