About MeThis taupe wedding dress was worn by Anna Alexander at her marriage to William Leiper on the 3rd of January 1908. The occasion was celebrated at Richmond Restaurant, at 3 Correction Wynd in Aberdeen. The wedding veil, headdress and an invitation are also held within the collection. The dress was worn again by the couple’s daughter on her wedding day in August 1953. We have, in the collection, a photograph of the happy occasion.
The skirt is full, and the boned tight-fitting bodice features full pleated sleeves; that gather in at the cuff. The bodice is decorated with lace detailing, a draped sash and a metal buckle at the back.
