About MeThis seven part series was begun in 1974. The first work was made up of four separate stretchers woven together with strips of canvas. This multi-faceted construction reminded Buckley of Picasso's folded paper sculptures of the 1950s to which the title of the series bears reference. 'Head of a Young Girl No. 7' juts out from the wall and allows the viewer to see the front, sides and back of the work. It is as if Buckley has literally interpreted Cubist faceting and multiple viewpoints in three-dimensions.More About Me
You obviously can’t tell from here, but this work actually juts out from the wall and allows the viewer to see the front, sides and back of the work. See for yourself in Gallery 17!
