About MeIn 1837, Robert Heron and his wife inherited the Fife Pottery of John Methven in Kirkcaldy. Their son, Robert Methven Heron continued their work from the early 1880s, developing a new range entitled Wemyss Ware in honour of Lady Grosvenor of Wemyss Castle. The high quality painted decoration was on a white body. This mug is typical Wemyss Ware earthenware, decorated with briar rose in pink and green underglaze. Production of Wemyss Ware continued until around 1928.
