About MeThis small jug with rounded body is made from Fremington clay, a clay local to Clive Bowen's North Devon Pottery, from which he makes most of his work. He makes a wide selection of useful pieces for the storage, preparation, cooking and serving of food and drink, ranging from giant store jars to everyday dishes, jugs and mugs.
The jug is glazed all over in a dark brown slip (liquid clay) with yellow ochre and brown slips over the handle, rim and outer body. The decoration features free flowing finger-combed brown slip waved bands around the body and plain banding to neck and foot.
