About MeThis glaze test bowl combines a black slip inside which also runs over the top outside, with a nuka glaze on the exterior. The bowl is further covered in a chun glaze.
Michael O'Brien made this piece in Surrey, England in 1998 when he was developing glazes for use in Nigeria.
Michael O'Brien originally went to Nigeria in 1963 to work with Michael Cardew. When Cardew retired O'Brien took over running the Pottery Training Centre in Abuja in Nigeria.
