About MeShallow circular dish decorated with three broad bands of glaze. The broadest band is a pale green-beige speckled wood ash, then a band of tenmoku glaze which is almost black in the centre and becoming reddish-brown on the rim. The third band is pale grey-white Nuka glaze. Nuka is a traditional Japanese glaze combining wood ash, rice husk ash and flint to give a glassy effect.
Glazed bands are likely to be applied by dipping first in green ash glaze and then dipping vertically into the other two glazes in turn.
