About MeThis silk satin dress was worn by the 24 year old Elizabeth Mortimer at her marriage to Robert Troup on the 15th of September 1901. The couple were wed at Kings College Chapel, Aberdeen.The dress features a low neckline with a boned bodice tapering to a point at the front. The bodice comprises of bands of fabric sewn from the shoulders to the centre point. From the bodice emerges large puffed sleeves with fabric being caught into tight elbow length cuffs. The straight panelled skirt has strips sewn across the hips echoing the style on the bodice. There is a train and bustle at the back. The dress has a cotton underskirt.
