About MeThis dress was worn by Miss Willhelmina (Minnie) Edward Macquibban at her marriage to John Murray at Kings College, Aberdeen on 31 July 1894.Mrs Maitland, a costumier at 254 Union Street, made this ivory satin and lace two-piece wedding gown. The slim fitting bodice features a prominent bust thrown forward by its corset construction. This shape became known as the monobosom. The tightness of the sleeves and the small waist serve to accentuate the bust. The skirt is streamlined but flares out at the bottom and is emphasised with flounces of lace.
