About MeThis painting is an example of an acquisition that allowed the then curator of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Ian McKenzie Smith, to build up a rapport and friendship with an artist, from whom he then purchased this painting. Copnall was delighted that this particular painting was chosen by Mackenzie Smith, following an exhibition of Copnall's work that had taken place here earlier in the year.

"Imagine my surprise and delight" he wrote, "to find that in fact you have kept "Green for Cathy" - the one I like best of all".

He was equally delighted that it was to hang in the Centre Court: "From the slide I see you have hung it where I had visualised it - bravo!"
More About Me
Red and blue usually makes purple, but here the artist follows his own norms and from their union creates green.
