About MeThis wedding dress was worn to a ceremony at the General Register Office for Scotland, in Edinburgh, on the 30th of July 1976. It was bought from a department store on Sauchiehall Street, in Glasgow, before being altered to fit.

This dress has an informal, simple quality to it. It was worn with a straw hat; wedge shows and a cream bag which would have added to the relaxed feel of the outfit. These items, and the groom’s suit, are held within the collections.

More About Me

The lightweight fabric, along with the tiers and bell sleeves, gives this dress a distinct hippy-vibe. You’d need a coat just in case if it was a summer wedding in Scotland though.
