About MeHighly decorative pear shaped teapot with flamboyant repousee flowers and foliage. Made by James Wildgoose of Aberdeen around 1770, this teapot is very unusual for the North East of Scotland. Most 18th century silversmiths working in this area preferred a much more restrained look, keeping their teapots plain, or possibly with the addition of a narrow band of engraving.
More About Me
At this time in the 18th century, many silversmiths in the North East of Scotland preferred a more restrained or plain style.  The flamboyance of this teapot makes it unique.
