About MeCarte de visite of a man standing next to an ornamental Greek column. he is holding an umbrella in his right hand and a top hat in his left. His hair is styled neatly with a parting down his right side; he also has a beard and side burns. He is wearing a long jacket, a white shirt with a matching white waistcoat and striped necktie. His trousers are dark and his shoes are polished. On the reverse the photographer's name and details appear in the form of a stamp. There is also a hand-written note in black ink: ' Captain Gordon' (?) c.1850-1860.1900-1949
