About MeThis small footed porcelain bowl is glazed all over in a pale greenish-blue celadon glaze fading to almost white around the rim. It is decorated with a band of a darker green glaze around the outside of the rim with a pattern of sgraffito vertical lines cut through the glaze before firing.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China. It is frequently found in shades of pale green, however colours can range from pale pearl blue to dark olive green depending on the quantity of iron oxide added to the glaze before it is fired.
