About MeRound porcelain bowl standing on a short cylindrical foot. It is glazed all over in pale greenish-blue celadon glaze with shaded band of pale greenish-brown tenmoku glaze around the rim.
Chris Keenan frequently works with a combination of celadon and tenmoku glazes, with tenmoku applied to enhance the shape or to create pattern.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China. It is frequently found in shades of pale green, however colours can range from pale pearl blue to dark olive green depending on the quantity of iron oxide added to the glaze before it is fired.
Tenmoku glaze is generally treacle-brown or lustrous black in colour.
