About MeA porcelain circular dish with the wall of the vessel formed to curve slightly inwards as it was raised on the potter's wheel. The outside is glazed in a speckled olive green and brown celadon glaze, whilst inside a pale blue celadon glaze has been applied. This glaze has pooled and become darker in colour around the outer circumference of the bowl.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China. It is frequently found in shades of pale green, however colours can range from pale pearl blue to dark olive green depending on the quantity of iron oxide added to the glaze before it is fired.
