About MeThis grey silk wedding dress was worn by Catherine Findlay on her marriage to Alexander MacNaughton in 1899.The two-piece features a tight fitting boned bodice with a wrap over front and slightly pointed waist. It has three-quarter length puff sleeves with wide cream silk cuffs. The peach high-necked false blouse is thought to have been added later. Brides wore their best dress, and those with limited means would often choose colours and materials that could be altered and worn again.
