About MeJane Hamlyn is one of Britain's leading saltglaze potters. Her primary concern is that her work should be practical, for use in the home and kitchen - yet also equally suitable for ornament.

This salt glazed stoneware teapot has spiralling notched lines created by pressing into the body with a roulette before firing. The crisp linear effects on the handle and knob are the result of rolling the clay on a surface with a defined pattern.

More About Me
The shiny and slightly orange peel-like texture is produced when common salt is thrown into the kiln during firing.
