About MeCarte de visite of a couple; the woman is seated wearing a black dress with tight fitted sleeves, white trim collar and a brooch. She is holding a book in her left hand. Her hair is up in a middle parting but the style is unclear. The man is standing with his left hand on her shoulder. He has a full beard and moustache and is dressed in a dark coat and matching suit with a white shirt and black necktie. edges of the card moutn are in gold and on the reverse the photographer's details appear in full.
