About MeCarte de visite of a couple; the woman is seated wearing a dress with tassels and a white collar and a long necklace. There is possibly a ring on her left hand indicating that the two might be married but the man's left hand is concealed behind the chair. Her hair is up with some small curls handing down at the back. The man has a beard and a moustache and is wearing a matching suit with a white shirt, patterned necktie and a pocket watch chain is visible inside the waistcoat. There is a handkerchief in his left breast pocket. His left hand is resting on the back of a chair and in his right he is holding a cane. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full.c. 1870
