About MeThis stoneware circular bowl has blue Chun glaze in the centre fading to pale green and pale yellow towards the rim.
Chun glaze originated in China and is an opalescent bluish glaze similar to celadon.
Rupert Spira trained with Michael Cardew at Wenford Bridge before setting up his first pottery in Hampshire. In 1996 he established a new pottery in Shropshire and gained a reputation for throwing elegant, restrained, stoneware pieces decorated with oriental glazes.
