About MeHandbuilt vessel which is raku fired and smoked to achieve a mottled creamy yellow and grey effect. The random smokey effect is achieved by placing the piece, hot from the kiln, in a dustbin packed with sawdust and leaving it undisturbed for several days to smoke. The surface is later burnished to achieve a smooth finish.
Gabriele Koch was born in 1948 in Lorach, Germany. She studied ceramics in London in the 1970s.

More About Me
I think it looks very silky. If I was in a bad mood and I looked at it, it would make me feel calm and happy. It looks very shiny like it has just been cleaned. Juliette.
