About MeThis tankard with scrolled handle is made from Fremington clay, a local material from which Clive Bowen makes most of his work at his North Devon Pottery. Bowen built his own wood-fired kilns for the production of domestic earthenwares and makes a wide selection of items for the preparation, cooking and serving of food ranging from giant store jars to everyday pots and dishes.
It is glazed all over in mottled mustard yellow, light green and brown slip glazes.
The tankard is marked with Clive Bowen's CB monogram, which he ceased using to mark his work in 1972.
