About MeCharles Tustin joined Winchcombe Pottery after his brother Sidney in 1935. Charles was apprenticed to Michael Cardew until 1939 and re-joined the pottery in 1946 after serving in World War Two .
The combed decoration through a contrasting slip (a creamy liquid clay) forms an undulating line around the storage jar. It often appears on Winchcombe Pottery and is sometimes known as the Winchcombe pattern.
