About Me
This large flared bowl is wheel-thrown and wood-fired in one of the three kilns at Clive Bowen's North Devon pottery. The deep wavy rim is created by the potter pushing the clay inwards with his thumb at five separate points along the rim.
The bowl is glazed inside in a creamy-yellow slip with a narrow free-flowing band of slip-trailed brown glaze, which is repeated along the rim edge. The outside is glazed in a dark brown slip with a band of yellow slip, mixed with green, around the rim border.
