About MeTerracotta large open dish, or bowl, with deep everted and flattened rim. It is glazed in a honey yellow slip (liquid clay) over dark brown and hand decorated with a large pictorial smiling sun face applied in brown overglaze slip and green underglaze slip. The rim is also decorated with a narrow brown slip band and black zig-zag pattern.
Hans Ullrich's work often has a close link to traditional slipware, using a honey coloured glaze over a terracotta clay, as seen in this example.
