About MeFrom the early 1920s until 1940, three graduates from Glasgow School of Art - Mary Ramsay, Jessie Wilson and Maggie McDonald - decorated china and earthenware blanks in the Studio in Strathyre, Perthshire. The blank pots came from many sources and were fired at Bo'ness. Bold colours and flowers dominate Ramsay's painting, and the pottery is signed and marked STRATHYRE. A shortage of blank pottery, due to wartime restrictions, caused the studio to close in 1940.

More About Me
A very attractive example of Ramsay's hand-painted "Strathyre" pottery where flowers and bold colours predominate, and functionality is combined with beauty.
