About MeGovancroft Pottery was established around 1911 by James Buchanan in the east end of Glasgow. They initially made utilitarian stonewares such as whisky jars and jam jars. Between 1946 and 1976 a range of vases, jugs, bowls and flower baskets were also produced, with opalescent and lustre glazes over dabbed colours, such as pink, yellow, green and purple.
