About MeThis slip-glazed tall jug with its long neck and rounded belly flaring to the foot is one of Clive Bowen's 'Medieval-style' jugs. It features a rolled rim with simple lip and a strap handle with prominent join to the body where the potter's thumb has applied pressure to the clay.
Bowen built his own wood-fired kilns for the production of domestic earthenwares at his North Devon pottery. He makes a wide selection of useful pieces for the preparation, cooking and serving of food ranging from giant store jars to everyday pots and dishes.
