About MeThis pottery object was found during the excavations at the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen in 1994. It is part of a vessel, which may have been wheel-thrown, displaying the remains of two pierced holes which can be seen at the top of this picture.

It may not ever be possible to determine from exactly what sort of vessel this small fragment of pottery came from. It may have been from a chafing dish, a vessel for heating food or for keeping it warm at the table.
