About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during the 1994 excavations at the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen. It was hand-made during the medieval period and may have been either an industrial vessel or a piece of roof furniture.

This vessel was not made on a potter's wheel, like most of the pottery found on excavations in Aberdeen. It appears to have been hand made for a particular purpose. It is roughly finished and slightly sooted on its exterior surface.
