About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during excavations at the site of the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen during the medieval period. It was made in Saintonge in France and may date to the 16th century.
This sherd is probably from a jug or small bowl. It is made of very fine white fabric, which is characteristic of medieval French pottery. Vessel types in these fabrics include jugs, cooking pots and bowls.
