About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during an excavation at the site of the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen in 1994. It is a strap handle from a jug which has been decorated by using a potter's tool with three prongs.

Handles are generally rod (round in section) or strap (flat) shaped. They are often highly decorated with pinched and incised patterns. They are also one of the thickest parts of the vessel.
