About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during an excavation at the site of the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen. It is the rim of a jug which was made during the medieval period. Incised decoration has been applied to the rim of the bowl.

This jug was probably made in Aberdeen during the 13th or 14th century. The clay from which it was manufactured was quite coarse and it is possible to see small grits (stones) on the surface of the vessel.
