About MePorcelain cylindrical mug with small loop handle and squashed sides which appear to have been created with potter's thumb and forefinger pushing the clay inwards before firing. Distinct potting rings inside.
It is glazed all over in a pale green celadon glaze which is very light in colour, almost white, over the rim and handle edges and a deeper shade of green inside and towards the foot.
Celadon is a type of glaze which originated in China. Iron oxide is added to create shades of pale green and blue and with the addition of a greater amount of iron oxide, in colours as dark as olive green and black.
