About MeThis stoneware mug has been glazed all over in a grey-white ash glaze. On the exterior an olive green glaze has been applied and wiped through to create a pattern which resembles pine needles or pine trees.
Edward Hughes frequently used glazes incorporating wood ash from local sources close to his pottery studio at Isel Hall, near Cockermouth, Cumbria.
