About MeThis store jar has a bulbous body which gently tapers towards neck and foot and an overhanging stepped cover with button knop. Both pieces are made from Fremington clay local to Clive Bowen's North Devon pottery.
The jar and cover are wood-fired and glazed in a honey gold slip over brown glaze with finger-combed and sgraffito (scratched) decoration. The jar is divided into three panels, one decorated with a fish, one decorated with a leafy plant and the final one decorated with a prawn - motifs which appear frequently in Bowen's work.
