About MeThis small mug is formed as a tankard with an almost straight cylindrical form with single protruding band beneath the rolled rim. The piece is wheel-thrown and there are distinct potting rings around the body.
It is glazed in a honey yellow slip (liquid clay) over dark brown, creating a mottled appearance.
Clive Bowen uses a local clay for most of his work produced at his North Devon pottery. He makes a wide selection of useful pieces for the storage, preparation, cooking and serving of food and drink, ranging from giant store jars to everyday dishes, jugs and mugs.
