About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during excavations at Aberdeen Carmelite friary in 1980-1. It is a bridge spout for a large jug which was made in Scarborough during the 13th or 14th century. It is in the form of the head of an animal.

At the junction of the spout with the rim of the jug, an eye can be seen. Zoomorphic decoration (in the form of animals) and anthropomorphic decoration (in the form of humans) is fairly common on jugs and other vessels in the medieval period.
