About MeThis sherd of medieval pottery was found during the excavations at the site of the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen in 1994. It is a view of the inside of a stoneware jug base made in Langerwehe in Germany.

Langerwehe lies between Aachen and Cologne in an area where huge amounts of pottery were made from the 14th century onwards. The earliest reference to pottery production is in 1324, when it is likely that stoneware production started.
